Escape From DayZ is run by Escape From DayZ LLC (EscapeFromServers@gmail.com). We keep as little about you as we can. This page covers EFD Bot, the bot on our Discord. Two other parts of the community have their own policy:
- The store (priority queue): the store privacy policy.
- The staff handbook and its records about conduct on the server: the staff handbook privacy policy.
EFD Bot#
EFD Bot is our own Discord bot. It works only in our community Discord and our staff Discord, and can't be added anywhere else.
What it keeps#
- Support tickets. When you open a ticket: your Discord ID and display name, the answers you give in the ticket form (including a Steam64 ID if you give one), and, when the ticket closes, a transcript of the ticket channel: every message, who wrote it and when, and copies of attached files. Staff notes on the ticket are kept with it. This is how our team keeps a record of what was asked and decided, so a later ticket can be checked against an earlier one.
- Staff applications. Your Discord ID, name and the answers you give, with the decision.
- Staff activity, for staff only. For members of our staff team: how many messages they sent each day in our support and community channels, the tickets they handled, and the moderation actions they took, so the server owner can see who is doing the work. Only counts and times are kept, never the text of those messages. Messages from members who aren't staff are not stored at all.
What it doesn't keep#
- Your messages anywhere outside a ticket. The text of chat channels is never stored.
- Presence or status, voice activity, or direct messages.
- Anything from a server other than our own.
Who sees it#
Only our staff, and only to run support and moderation on Escape From DayZ. Ticket transcripts open through links that expire after 12 hours; investigation and HR tickets only for the staff those are for. When a ticket closes you may be sent your own copy by DM; it never includes staff notes. Staff activity counts are seen only by the server owner.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone except the services that run the bot: Cloudflare, which hosts it and stores its records, and Discord itself. If you use /prio, your Discord ID is sent to our own store to look up your priority.
Server member information#
The bot reads which roles members hold so it can tell staff from players, give out the roles you pick yourself, and keep our roles tidy. It doesn't store the member list.
How long#
Ticket transcripts and applications are kept as long as the community needs a record of them, which for bans and appeals can be years. Staff activity counts are kept for one year.
Your choices#
To see what we hold about you, or to ask for it to be deleted, open a ticket in the Discord or email EscapeFromServers@gmail.com. We may keep a ticket about a ban or a rule break where it is needed to enforce our rules, and will tell you if so.
